Indian Railways Announces Extensions and Departure Time Changes on These Routes

Indian Railways has announced the extension of several train services and adjustments to departure times for express trains to enhance passenger convenience. These changes, implemented by South Eastern Railway, Northeast Frontier Railway, and North Central Railway, aim to improve travel options and better meet passenger needs.

Passengers are encouraged to review the updated schedules and plan their journeys accordingly. Here are the details:

Extended Train Services

South Eastern Railway: The Howrah-Yesvantpur-Howrah Superfast Weekly Express Special (Train No. 02863/02864) will now run until July 25, 2024, with four additional trips for the Howrah-Yesvantpur service (Train No. 02863). The Yesvantpur-Howrah service (Train No. 02864) will extend until July 27, 2024, also with four extra trips. Both services will maintain their current schedules, stops, and configurations.

Northeast Frontier Railway: The New Tinsukia-SMVT Bengaluru-New Tinsukia Weekly Express Special (Train No. 05952/05951) will now run until October 31, 2024, with 18 additional trips for the New Tinsukia-SMVT Bengaluru service (Train No. 05952). The SMVT Bengaluru-New Tinsukia service (Train No. 05951) will extend until November 4, 2024, also with 18 extra trips. Two additional General Second-class coaches will be added to these trains.

Revised Departure Timings

North Central Railway: Departure times for the Vasco Da Gama-Hazrat Nizamuddin-Vasco Da Gama Express (Train No. 12779/12780) at Mathura Junction will change effective July 5, 2024. Train No. 12779 will now depart at 04:05 hrs instead of 04:02 hrs, and Train No. 12780 will depart at 16:50 hrs, three minutes later than its previous time of 16:47 hrs.
Additionally, over 200 trains have been canceled or diverted due to ongoing maintenance work on South Eastern Railway’s Kharagpur Division. These changes are expected to remain in effect until June 29.

The maintenance work, which includes Pre-Non Interlocking and Non Interlocking tasks at Andul Station, is being carried out to connect the Sankrail-Santragachi Link Line with Andul station.
