New Delhi: There is a lot of good news for the train passengers. Now you will not need to go to the railway station and queue long to book offline tickets. You can also book a train ticket by visiting the nearest post office. In fact, Indian Railways has also facilitated booking of train tickets from post office keeping in view the facilities and requirements of passengers.

Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), a railway ticket booking company, has taken the initiative for this special facility. This facility is part of the Modernization Scheme of the Railways under which railways are introducing train reservation facility in the post office with the help of Postal Department.

As per the report given by Indian Railways, under this special facility, it is now being launched from UP where ticket booking facility will be provided in about 9147 post offices. This will save a lot of time for people as they will not have to go to the station or their agents to book their train tickets. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav unveiled this new facility of IRCTC in UP capital Lucknow. The villagers will benefit the most from this special service of the Railways. In fact, people living in remote villages and remote locations will also be able to make reservations. Anyone can easily get their ticket from their nearer post office.
