There is no need to get confused about any kind of complaint related to Indian Railways now. The railways have put together the rail helpline numbers for the convenience of the people. Indian Railways has now released the number 139 in place of all the existing helpline numbers. With this, it has become easier for people to remember this number and connect with the Indian Railways. Single number 139 will be used to file all inquiries and complaints due to travel.


In the information issued by the railways, it has been told that in addition to 139, Zonal Railways will not issue a new helpline number or complaint number. The new number will provide integrated services to rail users, who can dial just 139 for security, complaints, catering, and vigilance. With the introduction of the new number, all the remaining helpline numbers will be closed. The number 139 will be present in all languages and will be based on IVRS (Interactive Voice Response System).

All the same mobile phone users can reach to call 139. On this number, passengers can get information by sending an SMS for basic inquiries related to the train and inquiries regarding PNR status, ticket (normal and immediate) availability, train arrival, departure, reservation like a departure. Postpone schedule, seat availability, ticket postponement, fare, destination alert, wakeup call; News related to on-board services and security can also be obtained through it.
