The Indian men's hockey team has left for London on Monday for the FIH Hockey Pro League 2022/23 matches in Europe, starting May 26. The Indian team is set to begin its Europe campaign in London, where they will face defending Olympic champions Belgium (May 26 and June 2) and hosts Great Britain (May 27 and June 3). After which Harmanpreet Singh's team will leave for Eindhoven for their final matches against hosts Netherlands (June 7 and 10) and Argentina (June 8 and 11).

Captain Harmanpreet has said before flying to Europe, 'We have very important matches coming up at the end of the FIH Pro League season. We are in a strong position in the table so far and we will look to get as many points as possible in the remaining matches. We are excited about this tour as it gives us an opportunity to play against good teams. These matches will be really important for us as we are also preparing for the important Asian Games later this year.' In their recent Pro League matches at home, India have remained unbeaten against world champions Germany and Australia to top the table. After those matches, newly appointed head coach Craig Fulton has also joined the Indian team and this is going to be the first tour of India under his leadership.

Speaking on the team's preparations, Harmanpreet said, 'Our training sessions at the national coaching camp at the SAI (Sports Authority of India) center in Bengaluru were good and intense as well. The preparation has been really good, and our last matches in Rourkela have boosted our confidence even more. So we are going to try to repeat this performance in the upcoming matches.'

He has said about this that, We will move forward step by step, we are going to try to play good hockey. Most importantly, we will try to maintain our momentum as it is a long tour and a busy season ahead. The Indian men's hockey team is set to resume their FIH Pro League 2022/23 campaign against Belgium on May 26 at 07:10 PM IST.
