New Delhi: Some parts of the entire India which is facing scorching heat are likely to get relief from the hot weather today. The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted that a lot of rain is expected in some north eastern states. In addition, there may be heavy rains in the southern Indian state of Kerala.

According to news agency ANI, the Indian Meteorological Department has said that heavy to very heavy rains are expected at various places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. There may be heavy rainfall at various places in the areas of the Ganga coast of Assam, Meghalaya, Kerala and West Bengal. Earlier, the Met Office said yesterday that the heat wave will continue for another week in large parts of the country. Though the monsoon is likely to hit Kerala in the next 48 hours, it will take less than one more week to reach the middle and western regions of the country, which is facing severe heat conditions.

Met Office says, weather conditions are likely to be high in the state

With the maximum temperature being between 45 and 50 degrees Celsius, many people have died due to heat stroke in the past few days in the country. According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), there have been fears of heat wave in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha region of Maharashtra, Telangana and coastal Andhra Pradesh.
