The Indian Under-18 women's football team has won the U-18 SAFF Championship title. Despite losing 0-1 to Bangladesh in the last league match, the Indian team has been declared the winner on the basis of a better goal average.
Team India's goal difference has been up to +11 as compared to Bangladesh's +3 goals. India's Linda Kom, who scored 5 goals in the tournament, became the highest goalscorer and the 'most valuable player' of the tournament.
The last match between India and Bangladesh was played at the JRD Tata Sports Complex in Jamshedpur on Friday. Not only that, the two teams got to see a tough fight till the last moment, but in the 74th minute, Eklima Khatun's goal opened Bangladesh's account and then they won against India.
