India’s COVID-19 Spiralling positivity rate is of great concern for State Govts

Madhya Pradesh: The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in the very start of this week stated that the daily positivity rate in the country has doubled from 8 percent to 16.69 percent in just 12 days. 

Till April 20, In Madhya Pradesh, more than 12,897 infected people have been found. The government record is reported to have 79 deaths a day, while the cremation figures are much higher. The record of spreading of infection in the state continues. 50,942 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. The infection rate was recorded at 25.3%. That is, every fourth person in the investigation is getting infected, while the first wave of corona peaked in September 2020.

The highest infection rate was then recorded at 14.3% on 21 September. In the peak of the first wave of corona, between 300 and 400 were found in major infected cities in the state in Indore, Bhopal and Gwalior in September, but in the second wave, more than 350 infected started getting found in Anuppur, Katni and Rewa. Between 1000 and 1800 cases are now being found in Indore, Bhopal and Gwalior.

Till now the figures of deaths of corona patients in Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur and Gwalior were high, but now the number of deaths in small cities is increasing. According to the government report, in the last 24 hours, 5–5 deaths were reported in Neemuch and Shahdol, 4 in Ratlam, Sidhi and 3–3 in Tikamgarh.

The total number of deaths from corona in the state has reached 4713. The death toll due to lack of oxygen in the state is high, but the government is denying the fact. In the last 13 days, 56 such deaths are alleged to have taken place in Jabalpur, Katni, Shahdol and Bhopal.
