Dehradun: The corona epidemic has created a huge hue and cry across the country and the impact of corona is also visible on Haridwar Mahakumbh. On the occasion of Ram Navami bathing, other ghats including Harki Pauri, Brahmakund are lying in the sun and only a number of people are seen bathing. Elaborate security arrangements have been made by the administration for bathing, but the fear of corona seems to dominate the faith of the devotees.

Devotees say that only hundreds of people may have bathed here since morning, though devotees are also happy that the ghats are not crowded and are appreciating the administration for the security arrangements of the police and the low crowd at the ghats. The devotees who arrived here themselves believe that they too had fear, but they have come here because of faith.

The same Haridwar ASP Manoj Katyal says that today ram Navami baths are going on, there was night curfew till 5 am, then the bathing has started, action is also being taken against those who are not wearing masks. It may be recalled that due to increase in corona cases, saints of major akharas have started going back from Mahakumbh in Haridwar, after which there has been a sudden sharp decline in the crowd. Crowds were not seen at many places on Wednesday. This is an unimaginable sight as the Haridwar Kumbh officially ends on April 30.
