First Underwater Metro to run in Kolkata, will be able to enjoy the journey for just 5 rupees

Kolkata: Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal, which created history by first starting metro service in the country, is ready to create a new history again today. The first metro service in Kolkata started in 1984, its process continues in the 21st century. Railway Minister Piyush Goyal will flag off Kolkata East-West Metro service on Wednesday.

It will then be opened to the public on Friday (14 February). The biggest feature of this metro service is that it will run in underwater. It will also be the cheapest metro service in India. This line will be 15 kilometers long. The first line is going to start with a six-kilometer long line. In this metro, the fare of life from one station to another station will be just five rupees. According to the rate chart, passengers will have to pay Rs 5 for two kilometers, Rs 10 for five kilometers, Rs 20 for 10 kilometers and then Rs 30 for the last station.

Travelers will get a variety of facilities in the metro. These platforms will be equipped with modern facilities such as screen doors and detection systems. Giving information, a metro railway official has told that soon this service will be extended to 12 km for the commute of Kolkata.
