India’s First Vande Metro Renamed to 'Namo Bharat Rapid Rail' Ahead of PM Modi’s Inauguration

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate India's first Vande Bharat Metro, now renamed the 'Namo Bharat Rapid Rail,' on September 16. This inaugural service will run between Bhuj and Ahmedabad, marking a significant milestone for Indian Railways.

Key Details:

Service Overview: The Ahmedabad-Bhuj Vande Metro will cover a distance of 360 kilometers, making stops at nine stations along the route. The journey will take approximately 5 hours and 45 minutes, with a maximum speed of 110 kilometers per hour.

Train Schedule: The train will depart Bhuj at 5:05 AM and is expected to arrive at Ahmedabad Junction by 10:50 AM.

Additional Vande Bharat Trains: In addition to the Vande Metro, PM Modi will also launch several other Vande Bharat trains, including routes connecting Kolhapur-Pune, Pune-Hubballi, Nagpur-Secunderabad, Agra Cantt to Banaras, and Durg to Visakhapatnam. The first 20-coach Vande Bharat train will operate between Varanasi and Delhi.

Other Launches: Modi will inaugurate several key projects today, including a 30 MW solar system, a 35 MW Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Solar PV Project at the Kutch Lignite Thermal Power Station, and 220 Kilovolt substations in Morbi and Rajkot.

Infrastructure Developments: The Prime Minister will also introduce the Single Window IT System (SWITS) by the International Financial Services Centres Authority, aimed at improving financial services efficiency.

Housing Projects: Modi will sanction over 30,000 houses under the PMAY-Gramin scheme, release the first installment for these homes, and commence the construction of new houses under the PMAY scheme.
