New Delhi: The G20 Presidency is responsible to bring the G20 agenda together with consultation with other members and to develop the global economy. The G20 comprises 19 countries and 43 heads of delegations. The G20 presidency is held rotating presidency annually but this time India is holding the presidency this year.

India G20 Presidency theme is Vasudhaiva Kutumbaka which means one earth, one family, one future. This is inspired by the Sanskrit scripture Maha Upanishad. It tells the importance of fundamentals of life, environmental sustainability, and responsible lifestyle choices (individually and nationally) to create a cleaner, greener, and brighter future.

G20 presidency mission is Amirt kaal which aims to promote and focus on a life movement that aims environmental awareness and sustainable living. India aims for peace, growth, and rule-based order.

The summit had conducted various meetings which were hosted by different cities within the year. Recently on September 9^th-10^th, 2023, the meeting will be held in New Delhi.

India’s G20 priorities

1. Life movement, Climate changes – India will focus on climate finance and technology which will seek over the climate change. It will also ensure that the energy conversion for the developing country. The life movement introduction will focus on environmental awareness and a sustainable way of living.
2. Digitalization – we have seen how technological advancement has an impact on every sector to have new opportunities for the sectors and innovation of making India a digital innovation hub. G20 will also help to build cyber security awareness.

3. Women development – to focus on women empowerment and representation to improve socio-economic development and achieve SDGs.
4.   Education working group – the education will focus more on skill-based learning. The learner will do betterment on skilling, upskilling, and reskilling.
5.  Progress on SDGs – reassurance of commitment to attaining the goals outlined in the 2023 agenda for sustainable development with an emphasis on resolving the covid-19 pandemic effect.

6. Resilient growth – focus on initiatives that could result in structural change like assisting small and medium-sized businesses in international trade, and advancing labor right.
