India's Veer Ahlawat misses qualifying even after giving his best

India's Veer Ahlawat has managed to finish joint 5th in the SMBC Singapore Open Golf Tournament with a career-best performance here on Sunday but has missed out on a place in the 150th Open Championship slated to be held at St Andrews.

Veer made a double bogey and a bogey in the last 2 holes to move from second to joint 5th and he too failed to get one of the four places available for The Open Championship. Veer's total was seven under.

Shiv Kapoor has also managed to make it to the top 10 with a total score of 5 under from a score of 69 in the final round. Viraj Madappa (73) finished joint 48th, Rashid Khan (73) joint 53rd and S Chikarangappa (76) joint 65th. Thailand's Sedom Keivkanjana has also won the title with a total score of 13 under.
