FADA: On a year-over-year basis, India's November overall vehicle retail sales were down due to a lack of supply due to semiconductor shortages and heavy rains. The Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) provided figures that showed a drop of 2.7 percent in the month under review from November 2020.

Last month, retail sales declined to 18,17,600 units from 18,68,068 units sold in the same month in 2020. On a sequential basis, however, last month's overall vehicle retail sales were greater than the 13,64,526 vehicles sold in October 2021. In addition, when compared to November 2019 (pre-pandemic), last month's aggregate retail sales figure showed a 19.78percent drop. Overall vehicle retail sales in November 2019 was 22,65,740 units.

Passenger vehicle (PV) retail sales declined 19.44 percent year over year during the month under review, compared to November 2020. PV retail sales fell to 2,40,234 units last month, down from 2,98,213 units sold in the same month the previous year. Similarly, registrations for two-wheelers fell by 0.75 percent to 14,33,855 units. Retail sales of tractors declined 9.07 percent to 45,629 units.
