New Delhi: IndiGo chief executive Ronjoy Dutta told employees on Thursday that the airline has withdrawn the decision to cut the VAT. He said that this decision has been taken on the appeal of the government in which they have asked companies not to cut the salary of employees.

The company had earlier announced a cut in salary for senior employees in the month of April. Dutta has told the employees in an e-mail that, "However, our executive committee members and senior vice presidents have voluntarily decided to take salary less this month." All other employees can expect full payment for the month of April. "To prevent the spread of coronavirus in the country, there is a 'lockdown' (closed) from 25 March."
