Between the lockdown and the corona transition, private sector airline IndiGo has decided to provide data to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) for accurate weather forecasts. Important data related to the air, humidity and temperature of the company's aircraft will be made available to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) soon.

On Tuesday, IndiGo said in a statement, "Most of the aircraft are closed due to nationwide lockdown. There is also a shortage of employees. The data required for an accurate forecast of the weather is not available to IMD. The airline said that it has prepared a plan with its pilots. Under this, pilots will provide necessary information about strong winds and temperature at different stages of flight to IMD as expected.

The pilots will also inform the IMD about the weather conditions at different heights while going to the destination. Aseem Mitra, Senior Vice President (Flight Operation) of IndiGo said, 'We have made it mandatory for the pilots to provide information during the flight. We will send the information given by each flight within two hours to the headquarters of the Meteorological Department so that they can use this data in the national interest.
