New Delhi, May 28, 2020: Dr Palash Sen, the frontman of one of India’s most famous band Euphoria, is out to enthrall us yet again with his mesmerizing voice. The iconic Indipop sensation has now released his latest song ‘I Like It’, a foot-tapping number that is destined to strike a chord with the young audience. Breaking the norms, Palash’s latest single has been released on Likee, which is a global short video platform by Singapore-based BIGO Technology Ltd. It is for the first time that a song has been released, and not just promoted, on a short video app.

Starring in the song is Palash’s son Kinshuk Sen alongside Likee influencer Mili Lakhmani. The song revolves around a couple who is longing to meet each other. An early morning text from Kinshuk’s love interest inviting him to her place brightens his day. What follows is a joyride. As the video was filmed during lockdown, Mili self-shot the video in Delhi while Kinshuk did the same in Los Angeles.

Kinshuk had made his acting debut way back in 2017 with short film ‘Jiya Jaye’, for which he bagged the Best Actor in a Leading Role award at the Southern Short Awards in Atlanta, Georgia. His co-star Mili Lakhmani is also a popular influencer on short video app Likee. Besides, she is also an acclaimed dancer and choreographer.

Palash Sen, who is one of the pioneers of Indipop music, has been a torch-bearer of non-film music. By releasing his single on a short video app, he has yet again defied conventional modes of releasing songs. Over decades, he has ruled the hearts of music lovers with songs such as Dhoom and Maeri. His last outing was ‘Sabko Sudhara’, a song based on the prevailing situation in the wake of Covid-19 pandemic.

Palash, who is making his short video app debut with Likee, said, “We all are going through a tough time due to this pandemic and lockdown. But the situation also demands us to think beyond normal and explore new ways to reach out to the music lovers. ‘I Like It’ is one such attempt by me to offer something entertaining to the audience.”

Speaking about the launch, Abhishek Dutta, Head, Likee India, said, “This time Likee has taken the role of a launching platform rather than just being another promotional platform. We are thrilled to be the first short video app to launch an Indian artist's song exclusively.”

Likee influencers and creators can also join the fun on the app with #ILikeIt. At least three lucky ones, who post the best videos on the song, will get a surprise from Palash himself on Likee.

Launched in 2017, Likee has climbed up the popularity chart swiftly, owing to its attribute of providing emulsified content that strikes a chord with the young audience. Apart from promoting films, the app has also promoted singles by some independent and budding artists, enabling them reach millions. The launch of Palash’s ‘I Like It’ is just another milestone for the global platform, which is a pioneer in the world of short videos.
