Indore: We all know that for the last 4 years, our city has remained at number 1 continuously, while the share of youth is at par. Door to door garbage collection and people aware of cleanliness are mostly youths of 22 to 37 years. There are about seven thousand municipal cleaners in the city who sweep the road. Of these, about three to four thousand scavengers are youth. In the city, 50 employees are deployed for cleaning the drainage and storm water lines at every zone of the corporation. Eighty percent of the 900 employees of all zones are youth.
For your information, let us tell you that the Municipal Corporation is taking the help of four NGOs for monitoring, public awareness and training in cleaning work. Of these, around 400 youth are between 22 and 37 years of age. About 100 girls are also working in them. These people go door-to-door with the corporation's door-to-door garbage pickup vehicle and separate the wet and dry garbage from the people. Whatever zero colonies are being built in the city, people are training people there. Representatives of the NGO are giving training to the people of the hotel, hospital and marriage garden to make compost from wet waste.
