New Delhi, January 28: Infinix has launched its new phone, the Infinix SMART 9 HD, in India. This phone is the successor to the Infinix SMART 8 HD, which was released in December 2023. The SMART 9 HD is an affordable option for the entry-level smartphone market in India.

The phone comes with Digital Theater Systems (DTS) sound and stereo speakers. It is also one of the first phones in India to feature the MediaTek Helio G50 SoC. It has 3GB of RAM, plus an extra 3GB of virtual RAM through memory fusion. It runs on Android 14 Go Edition, and Infinix promises it will deliver over 3 years of smooth performance.

The SMART 9 HD has a punch-hole display and a glass back that resists fingerprints. It will be available in three colors: Mint Green, Coral Gold, and Metallic Black. Infinix has tested the phone's durability by dropping it 250,000 times.

The Infinix SMART 9 HD features a 6.7-inch HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The screen has a resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels and can reach a peak brightness of 500 nits. It runs on a MediaTek Helio G50 processor with 2.2 GHz octa-core speed. The phone has 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, with the option to expand storage up to 1TB using a dedicated memory slot. It also has an IP54 rating for protection against dust and water splashes.

The phone's rear camera setup includes a 13MP primary camera and a secondary camera with a dual LED flashlight.  The SMART 9 HD is powered by a 5,000mAh battery, which Infinix claims can offer about 14.5 hours of video playback and up to 8.6 hours of gaming on a single charge.

The Infinix SMART 9 HD starts at INR 6,699. However, it will be available for INR 6,199 after a limited-time discount. The phone will go on sale in India starting February 4, 2025. You can buy it on Flipkart.
