BANGALORE: Indian IT conglomerate, Infosys has come cracking down on "moonlighting"  or dual employment and warned employees if found out, it could lead to termination of services, sources said on Tuesday.

However, since the job market is still hot in Bangalore in spite of fears of the United State recession and the IT giant's diktat is not going to affect moonlighting by its employees.

The techies, including those who work for the IT behemoth, say that the Infy's decree won't be effective unless the work-from-home option is available. According to rumours, unicorns and start-ups are swooning over talented individuals.

The activities won't be visible to major IT businesses besides Infosys. Employees describe how flexible start-ups will reassign them to new assignments. The skilled workers are in a position to accept the alluring offer because they desire to poach the talent in the first place.

When it does not interfere with the task, the individual companies shouldn't have any issues, a software expert said.
Source at Infosys said that they received a severe email lately instructing them not to take any other jobs while employed by the business.

Rishad Premji, the chairman of Wipro, previously stated in a tweet that working two jobs is simply dishonest.
The competition from start-ups in the future has Infosys concerned, and its conventional procedures won't allow the flexibility start-ups enjoy, which will put them in an excel or die situation.

The Corona pandemic's gift to society is the trend. Most companies now require employees to visit the workplace twice a week. The recent rains in Bangalore have forced the employees to work from home. According to the creator of a start-up, moonlighting is not a moral issue; rather, it concerns a professional's effectiveness.
