IMPHAL: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh expressed gratitude towards everyone attending the commissioning of the INS Imphal, the latest addition to the Indian Navy. Singh emphasized that the inclusion of the Visakhapatnam-class stealth-guided missile destroyer showcased India's self-reliance ('aatmanirbharta') to the world.

Singh highlighted the collective effort behind this achievement, attributing the success to the dedication of numerous stakeholders. He mentioned that the name 'INS Imphal' symbolizes the essence of the North-East region and received support from New Delhi and four major Indian cities. Singh emphasized that this naval asset incorporated contributions from all corners of India.

Acknowledging the collaborative effort, Singh praised the involvement of MSMEs (Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises) and startups in the venture. He credited the collective prowess of India's manufacturing, skilled, and scientific sectors for the creation of this robust defence asset.

The Defence Minister stressed the significance of unity in leveraging the nation's strengths. He indicated that if India continues to unite its capabilities, the entire nation will witness unprecedented strength.

Singh issued a warning to potential adversaries, affirming India's readiness to counter threats in the maritime domain. He asserted that the INS Imphal demonstrated India's growing strength, serving as a deterrent to disruptive powers causing disturbances in the oceans due to India's burgeoning economic influence.

Highlighting the global impact, Singh emphasized that the induction of INS Imphal was not only momentous for India but would also ensure safer international trade routes. He expressed confidence in the guardianship of Indian warriors at sea, guaranteeing the safety and security of maritime trade lanes.

In his address, Singh praised the concerted efforts of individuals from diverse backgrounds and enterprises, both large and small, underscoring the rarity of such an accomplishment on a global scale.

Lastly, Singh thanked Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde for gracing the ceremony and dedicated INS Imphal as a proud asset to the nation.
