Paul Walker, star of "Fast & Furious," was only 40 years old when he passed away on November 30, 2013, in an automobile accident in Santa Clarita, California.
Paul Walker joined Twitter on November 28, 2013, to wish his fans a good Thanksgiving. That year, the Fast & Furious actor had plenty to be thankful for. He was beginning to make his own movies, and the sixth entry in his cherished film series had shattered box office records. But Paul Walker passed away suddenly two days later.
Walker, who was well known for his charitable work, had spent November 30, 2013, at a toy drive for his disaster relief organisation, Reach Out Worldwide, which was established in the wake of the 2010 Haiti earthquake. Walker left happily just before 3:30 p.m. — and he was never seen alive again.
Paul Walker, 40, shared a passion for fast automobiles with Brian O'Conner, the character he played in Fast & Furious. In fact, Walker and his friend Roger Rodas' high-performance vehicle business in Santa Clarita, California, hosted the charity event that day. The event was organised by Walker and Rodas to aid the Filipino survivors of Typhoon Haiyan.
Rodas drove the 2005 Porsche Carrera GT as Walker sat in the passenger seat while the two exited the event. Only a few hundred yards from the garage, Rodas lost control of the notoriously difficult-to-handle car. The Porsche struck a curb, a tree, a lamp post, and then another tree as it was moving at roughly 100 miles per hour before catching fire.
Everyone at the charity event, including Rodas' little kid, ran off right away. It was reportedly one of the most horrifying crash scenes in movie history, according to Walker's pal Antonio Holmes. He said, “It was engulfed in flames. There was nothing. They were trapped. Employees, friends of the shop. We tried. We tried. We went through fire extinguishers.”
The friends of Walker watched helplessly as word of the tragedy soon spread. Within hours, Paul Walker's passing had shocked fans all around the world.
Paul Walker's Rise in a Furious and Rapid Fashion
Paul William Walker IV, who was born on September 12, 1973, in Glendale, California, had a pretty good life. Before she married former amateur boxer Paul William Walker III and gave birth to five children, his mother Cheryl Crabtree Walker worked as a model. Paul was born first. He got his start in the entertainment industry at an early age, landing his first Pampers commercial at the age of two.
Throughout middle and high school, Walker went on auditions for roles and was offered bit parts in productions of Highway to Heaven and Charles in Charge. Although he graduated from Village Christian School in Sun Valley, California, in 1991, it wasn't until the second part of that year that his film career really took off.
Hollywood films like Pleasantville from 1998, Varsity Blues from 1999, and She's All That from 1999 gladly cast him. Walker made his appearance as an undercover police officer in The Fast and the Furious two years later, in 2001.
The 1998 VIBE magazine article "Racer X," written by Kenneth Li, served as the basis for the film, which focused on the illegal drag racing scene and the criminal underworld that surrounds it. Walker co-starred in action movies with Vin Diesel, and their characters quickly gained cult status. Later, their on-screen chemistry led to a close friendship off-screen as well.
The movie, which was initially written off as a risk, laid the foundation for what would eventually grow into a record-breaking, multibillion-dollar series. Walker was delighted to be fulfilling his dream. In addition to his success in the entertainment industry, Walker and his fiancée Rebecca McBrain had a daughter they named Meadow Rain Walker. Walker also enjoyed racing, surfing, and helping with charities in his leisure time.
