InterGlobe Enterprises, a major shareholder in IndiGo airline, has expanded its boutique lifestyle hotel brand, Miiro, to Europe. The company has recently opened two new hotels: Le Grand Hotel Cayre in Paris and Borneta in Barcelona. Over the next few years, InterGlobe plans to broaden its European presence with additional properties.

Neena Gupta, CEO of Miiro, announced that Le Grand Hotel Cayre in Paris welcomed its first guests in July, while Borneta in Barcelona opened its doors this month. Both hotels represent the brand’s entry into the luxury lifestyle market.

Looking ahead, Miiro has scheduled back-to-back openings through 2025, with new hotels planned for London and Vienna. The upcoming Templeton Garden in London, located in the picturesque Earl's Court, will feature 156 rooms, a cafe-deli, a neighborhood restaurant, a lively bar, and an expansive garden for outdoor dining, set to launch in Spring 2025. Meanwhile, the Vienna properties will collectively offer over 200 rooms.

With further expansions slated for 2026, Miiro is set to grow its footprint considerably. The brand, a wholly-owned subsidiary of InterGlobe, seeks to provide travelers with a blend of comfort and modern amenities in central city locations, enabling guests to experience life as locals.

Miiro's name is inspired by the Latin word "miro," meaning "I wonder," and reflects its aim to offer unique and reflective stays. Each property is designed to be a distinctive representation of its location, influenced by the local community and architectural style.

InterGlobe, which also holds a significant stake in IndiGo, operates a hospitality division with hotels both in India and internationally. The company's partnership with French hospitality group Accor includes around 7,000 rooms across 30 hotels in India. Miiro, founded in 2018, has since acquired 13 properties in key cities like London, Paris, Barcelona, Vienna, and Melbourne.

Gupta emphasized that Miiro’s goal is to acquire high-yield assets in iconic locations and transform them into lifestyle hotels. Since its inception, Miiro has renovated and launched several properties, including the 417-room hotel at Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam and the 278-room Reichshof Hotel in Hamburg.

In addition to its recent openings, InterGlobe aims to expand further into other European cities such as Milan or Florence. Gupta highlighted the company’s commitment to reshaping the hospitality industry with Miiro, promising immersive experiences that connect travelers with the essence of each city.

Le Grand Hotel Cayre, situated in the historic Saint-Germain-des-Pres quarter of Paris, has been revitalized to celebrate its legacy as a gathering spot for artists and intellectuals. Borneta, located in Barcelona’s vibrant El Born district, offers 92 individually designed rooms and suites inspired by the neighborhood’s artistic and historic ambiance.
