In the midst of the Corona crisis, the Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) has welcomed the government's decision to allow for selective economic activities from April 20, 2020. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday announced to extend the lockdown period to May 3. However, he also said that from April 20, conditionally limited activities can be allowed in such areas where there is less possibility of spreading the virus. After this, detailed guidelines were issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs on Wednesday. The central government has allowed IT companies to work with 50% employees. Services like e-commerce, courier and IT repair have also been allowed.

Amid the virus infection, the Internet and Mobile Association has said that the government's decision to allow select business activities with the condition of complying with the prescribed Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) will provide some relief on the economic front and people's livelihood.
