New Delhi: While the vaccine has raised expectations for the people amidst rising cases of corona, Interpol has alerted the world to its fake advertisements and its sales. Interpol has warned law enforcement agencies around the world that organized criminal networks can advertise and sell fake Corona vaccines online and offline.

In an Orange notice issued to all 194 member nations, Interpol on Wednesday warned the Lyon-based International Police Cooperation Agency to be prepared for possible criminal activity of illegal advertising of the corona and flu vaccine. Interpol said in a statement, "It also includes examples of crimes where people are advertising and selling fake vaccines."

Interpol issues an Orange Notice to warn an event, a person, an object or a process representing a serious and imminent danger to public safety. The CBI is tasked with coordinating with Interpol. The warning came on the day Britain became the first country to approve a corona vaccine, overtaking the US and the European Union in the race to approve the vaccine.
