Apple is all set to launch the iOS 18.2 update, featuring new advancements in Apple Intelligence, a month earlier than anticipated. After introducing the first wave of these features in iOS 18.1, the company now aims to release iOS 18.2 in early December. This update, currently available to beta testers, includes major artificial intelligence enhancements such as Genmoji, Image Playground, visual intelligence, and ChatGPT integration in Siri.
Mark Gurman, in his weekly tech update, suggested that iOS 18.2 could arrive by December 2, provided there are no unexpected delays. Following this release, the next major update, iOS 18.4, is projected for April. This upcoming version will reportedly bring an advanced Siri feature, enabling it to access on-screen information for more contextual responses.
Interestingly, Apple's typical schedule sees xx.4 updates in March, making the projected April release of iOS 18.4 slightly delayed. However, if iOS 18.2 launches as expected, it would be earlier than usual, with iOS 17.2 and iOS 16.2 previously arriving mid-December.
In addition, Apple plans to expand its Apple Intelligence feature to new language settings. Previously available only in American English, the company aims to include localized versions of English for Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, and the UK in the iOS 18.2 update. Indian users, who currently need to switch to English (US) to access these features, will soon have the option of English (India) support. Additional language options, including Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, and Vietnamese, are anticipated by April.
