India was prominently featured at the inaugural Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF) Clean Economy Investor Forum, held at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. The Ministry of Commerce and Industry spearheaded the Indian delegation, showcasing the country's robust economic opportunities in infrastructure, clean economy, and digital transformation.

The event gathered over 60 global investors and financial institutions, highlighting India's economic potential across various sectors. More than 25 Indian companies had the opportunity to pitch their projects to over 100 global investors from the US, Singapore, Japan, Australia, Korea, and other countries.

India's Strong Economic Trajectory Highlighted

Sunil Barthwal, Secretary of the Department of Commerce, emphasized India's impressive economic growth, which outpaces that of other emerging markets. He noted a trend of 'reverse flipping', with Indian startups returning to India due to strong economic fundamentals and supportive policies.

Enhancing India's Attractiveness as an Investment Destination

The forum facilitated meaningful interactions between Indian companies and global investors. Indian firms, including Temasek, Global Infrastructure Partners, GuarantCo, Private Infrastructure Development Group (PIDG), Goldman Sachs, I Squared Capital, Mizuho Bank Ltd, Advantage Partners, Nomura, DBS Bank, and Citi Bank, engaged with international participants.

Strategic Economic and Regulatory Environment

India's High Commissioner to Singapore, Dr. Shilpak Ambule, highlighted India's economic growth drivers, such as significant investments in physical and digital infrastructure. He emphasized legislative and regulatory reforms that create a pro-market environment, making India an attractive investment destination.

India's Commitment to Sustainable Development

Invest India, the country's investment promotion agency, presented several government initiatives aimed at attracting foreign investment. These include a thriving startup ecosystem, skilled professionals, and policy reforms to enhance transparency and ease of doing business. The presentation underscored India's commitment to sustainable development and its ambitious Net Zero targets.

Collaboration and Investment Opportunities

Nivruti Rai, Managing Director and CEO of Invest India, emphasized India's readiness to collaborate with global investors in sustainable infrastructure, climate technology, and renewable energy projects. The forum also featured a fireside chat on "Charting India Opportunity," highlighting India's strengths and projected economic growth over the next five years.

Insights from industry leaders like Sonal Varma, Managing Director of Nomura, and Kunal Agarwal, Managing Director of I Squared Capital, emphasized India's growing prominence as a focal point for global investors. They pointed out India's 'Infrastructure Supercycle' and the ongoing digital revolution as significant enablers for economic growth.
