New Delhi:- When Apple announces the iPhone 15 lineup in two months, it will also announce the first charging port change since the iPhone 5. However, for many iPhone users, nothing changes how they charge their iPhones.
In retrospect, it's hard to believe that Apple only made five of its iPhone models with the original charging port. The original iPhone, released 16 years ago, had the same 30-pin charging connector as the iPod series.
When Apple's 30-pin connector was adopted for the iPhone, it was a great charging option. The connector only goes in when facing forward, but no longer engages the teeth on either side.

Apple has so far supplied this charging connector only for the iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, and iPhone 4S. Still, when the iPhone 5 switched to the current Lightning port in 2012, public reaction wasn't always positive.
This is mainly because the popularity of the iPod delayed the introduction of the 30-pin connector. It also didn't help that Apple's 30-pin to Lightning adapter was scarce when the iPhone 5 was launched.
It's true that the iPhone charging port hasn't changed in over a decade, but your customers may see it differently.

Apple has started including a USB-C to Lightning cable with the iPhone 11 Pro for faster charging. The iPhone 5 through iPhone XS (and not the Pro 11) came with a USB-A to Lightning cable. Apple also included a loading stone in the box. A year later, Apple stopped packing power adapters in the box to save the planet, replacing USB-A to Lightning with USB-C to Lightning in the iPhone 12. I'm renting an iPhone if the two do so, but these are iPhone users still discovering the benefits of fast charging with his USB-C to Lightning and his 20W power adapter.
These days Apple can charge everything from MacBooks and iPads to Apple TV remotes and Beats headphones via USB-C. Anything but an iPhone.
Whether Apple likes it or not, things will change with the iPhone 15 series. For many of us, the switch from Lightning to USB-C has been long overdue. Apple's insistence on shipping Lightning over the last few years will only make the transition even worse.
But for many iPhone users, the move from Lightning to USB-C is a scary transition (whether Apple likes it or not). The Lightning ecosystem is thriving for many, regardless of what Apple's other products have achieved. Investing in a new charging connector is a headache (whether Apple wants it or not). However, there is something different about this charging conversion. For some iPhone users, it doesn't matter which charging port Apple uses. Apple could replace Lightning with VGA, but for charging purposes, it doesn't matter.
That's because Apple didn't replace the wireless charging method six years ago, rather than introduce it. iPhone X and iPhone 8 were the first to support the Qi charging standard, and iPhone 12 greatly improved the MagSafe experience. For some users, the iPhone charging port is just a service port and lint collector.

There is probably a lot of confusion between those who embrace wireless charging and those who are looking forward to USB-C iPhones. However, for some iPhone users, the move from Lightning to USB-C on the iPhone 15 lineup won't make much of a difference. Use the same MagSafe charger with your iPhone 15 that you've been using since your iPhone 12. The same cannot be said for the last big iPhone port change.
The iPhone users will get to see the new Charging Port on the all-new iPhone 15 models after the launch. The new feature was not expectable by the users but the iPhone will get the C-type cable as a charging cable.
