After the nationwide lockdown was extended till May 3 by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the BCCI has not yet made any official announcement but has informed the IPL teams about the postponement of the tournament indefinitely. Sources said that BCCI has informed all the eight franchises in this regard. It has not been officially notified yet because if there is a possibility, a middle ground can be worked out in the next 48 hours.

According to the report, BCCI said - League is being postponed, not cancelled. "The BCCI has informed us that the IPL is still being postponed but they are hopeful it be decided in few months" said a franchise official.

After the announcement of extending the lockdown till May 3, there is no question of getting IPL in April May. The IPL was to be held from 29 March to 24 May.
