New Delhi:  In the history of Cricket it’s not very often that a bowler picks a hat-trick But this tradition seems to have changed since the beginning of T20 cricket where batsman have thrust to the constant search of quick runs, and never reticent from striking and hitting the ball. In the last 10 editions of the IPL, there have been 17 such cases when bowlers picked hat-tricks. Have a look at top-5 IPL hat-tricks takers across all editions.

1. Yuvraj Singh (2 IPL Hat-tricks in 120 matches)

Yuvraj Singh’s first hat-trick ended in his team ’s big crush But his second IPL-hat-trick came in 2009 against the Deccan Chargers where he picked the prized wickets in which Herschelle Gibbs, Andrew Symonds, and Venugopal Rao were included. Yuvraj Singh’s hat-trick helped his team to a 1-run win.

2. Pravin Tambe (1 Hat-trick in 33 matches)

Pravin Tambe picked up the wickets of Manish Pandey, Yusuf Pathan, and Ryan Ten Doeschate to grab his first and only IPL hat-trick till date.  Due to Tambe’s hat-trick, Rajasthan defends 49 runs from the last 5 overs and registered a win in the close match.

3. Jaydev Unadkat (1 Hat-trick in 47 matches)

 The million dollar baby of IPL 2018 Jaydev Unadkat picked up the third hat-trick of the IPL 2017 and helped his team to win a very close game. Unadkat picked up Bipul Sharma, Rashid Khan, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar to complete his hat-trick and win the game for his team when his team Defending 13 runs off the last over.  Due to this mega hat-trick, Unadkat registered his best ever IPL figure 30/5 as he picked his 100th IPL wicket.

4. Axar Patel (1 Hat-trick in 59 matches)

Axar Patel’s a very special hat-trick in IPL 2016 against Gujarat Lions had a much cricket flavour as the left-arm spinner picked his early wickets in the first inning and still it was a broken hat-trick as well. Axar departed Dinesh Karthik and Dwayne Bravo in the 8th over of the innings and then he came back to pick Ravindra Jadeja’s wicket on the first ball of the 11th over to finish his unusual hat-trick.

5. Amit Mishra (3 IPL Hat-tricks in 126 matches)

Of the 3 hat-tricks, Amit Mishra has picked in the IPL, perhaps the most special and most important one was the first hat-trick he picked in the first season of the Indian Premier League 2008. In this match, Delhi was defending 15 runs in the last over and Virender Sehwag asked Amit Mishra to ball and he took the chance for becoming an instant hero. He picked up the wickets of Ravi Teja, Pragyan Ojha, and RP Singh to grab his first IPL hat-trick.
