Kolkata: Players' auction for the IPL 2020, the 13th season of the Indian Premier League, is going on today, December 19, 2019, in Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal. For the first time, the IPL is being auctioned in Kolkata. The eight IPL franchises have a total of 73 cricketers' seats vacant. The first 332 players were selected for the auction. 6 more names have been added to these.

The names of these players are Vinay Kumar of India, Ashok Dinda, Robin Bisht, Sanjay Yadav, and Matthew Wade and Jack Weatherland of Australia. In this auction, Kings XI Punjab is coming down with the most money. It has funds of Rs 42.70 crore to buy players. Defending champions Mumbai Indians have the lowest amount, with MI having just Rs 13.05 crore. All the players are divided into different groups according to their role (batsman, bowler, wicketkeeper, and all-rounder). The batsmen are being auctioned first.
