Anil Kumble, the head coach of IPL franchise Kings XI Punjab, has recently said that "KL Rahul will prove to be a good leader for the team in IPL 2020. In fact, last year, R Ashwin took the command of the team, but after that 'Delhi Capitals' took him to their side in December 2019". Anil Kumble now believes that "Rahul has the experience of Team India and he can prove successful as a captain".

Recently he said, "Rahul is calm and intelligent. I have known him for a long time. He also has international experience. He has been playing for Punjab for last few years. He knows the team well, he is also very excited about this season. At the moment, he is fully prepared as a captain, a batsman and a keeper". In the year 2018, Rahul scored 659 runs in 14 matches with an average of 54.19. Last year, he scored 593 runs with an average of 53.90, it also includes 6 fifties".

Kumble says "He hopes that this year his team will do well". Apart from this, he also believes that the team has young and experienced players. He said, "I will see him playing for the first time. We are preparing for this season and are fully ready to play our first match".
