Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) announced on Sunday that Wanindu Hasaranga and Dushmantha Chameera have received no-objection certificates (NOC) to play in the Indian Premier League remainder season in 2021. However, the duo will have to join the Sri Lankan team on October 10 for their pre-T20 World Cup warm-up games.

"The 'No Objection Certificate' to the duo was issued for them to join the IPL teams starting from 15th September (following the completion of the South Africa Tour of Sri Lanka). The two players will join the Sri Lanka squad on 10th October 2021 to play in the two warm-up games prior to the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Qualifiers," said the SLC.

From September 19 to October 15, the second part of the 2021 IPL will be held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The T20 World Cup, which will be held in the UAE and Oman from October 17 to November 14, will be hosted by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

"Sri Lanka Cricket wishes to announce that permission has been granted to National Players Dushmantha Chameera and Wanindu Hasaranga to take part in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. The permission for the players was granted by the SLC in consultation with the Technical Advisory Committee," said the SLC.
