BANGALORE:  Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) opener Jason Roy was on Wednesday, April 26,  fined 10 percent of his match fee for breaching the Indian Premier League (IPL) Code of Conduct.

The English opener, who fired in a 29-ball 56 to propel Kolkata Knight Riders  to 200/5 against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB)  has admitted to the breach.  "Jason Roy admitted to the Level 1 offence under Article 2.2 of the Indian Premier League Code of Conduct," IPL Media said.

The incident took place during Kolkata Knight Rider's 21-run win over Royal Challengers Bangalore at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, in Bangalore. For Level first  breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee’s decision is final and binding, it added.

The Kolkata Knight Rider opener played a fine 56-run knock in 29 balls but was left frustrated after getting out and hit one of the bails with the bat, a breach of the IPL Code of Conduct.

For Level first Code of Conduct violations, the Match Referee’s ruling is treated as final and binding. The IPL Code of Conduct’s Article 2.2 refers to player conducts or actions that is against the spirit of the game.
