New Delhi [India], Jan 28: Yes it is IPL Auction fewer. Day one of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 auction in Bengaluru sprung many surprises for the eight franchises taking part in the cash-rich league. While Ben Stokes once again bagged the most expensive deal (Rs. 12.5 crore), big-hitting Chris Gayle and South Africa star Hashim Amla failed to attract any bids. The first day of the auction saw 78 players being sold, including 29 overseas where Rs 3,21,10,00,000 was spurlged to buy the services of the players. Stokes's deal with Rajasthan Royals came ahead of Indian batsmen Lokesh Rahul, Manish Pandey and Australians Chris Lynn, Mitchell Starc and Glenn Maxwell in the season's top buys.

 

There is drama here during auction. Punjab had done everything to get Rashid Khan. Took the bid to Rs 9.00 crore but Hyderabad used their RTM card to retain the Afghan teen. Rashid might just have become the youngest millionaire in Afghanistan. Biding crossed Rs 215 Crores with 44 Key Players sold. Pat Cummins sold for Rs 5.40 Crores. Mumbai Indians purchase Aussies pace bowling machine Pat Cummins. Mustafizur Rahman bought for Mumbai India of Rs 2.2 Crores. England all-rounder batsmen Chris Woakes sold for Rs 7.40. Manish Pandey bought to Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs 11 Crores. RCB open their account with Brendon McCullum. He was sold at Rs. 3.60 Crores. Aaron Finch brought by Kings XI Punjab with an amount of Rs 6.20 Crores. Murli Vijay remain unsold and join the likes of Chris Gayle and Joe Root. Young Indian Batsmen Karun Nair was sold to Kings XI Punjab for Rs 5.60 Crores. Sanju Samson bought by double R’s for Rs 8 Crores. Indian batsmen KL Rahul sold for Rs 11 Crores. While Ashwin goes for Rs. 7.60 Crores to King XI Punjab while Kieron Pollard from West Indies RTM by Mumbai Indians for Rs. 5.40 Crores. While Ben Stokes was sold to Rajasthan Royal for Rs 12.5 Crores, Michell Starc sold to KKR for Rs 9.40 Crores. Shakib Al Hasan sold for Rs. 2 Crores for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Wriddhiman Saha was bought by SRH for Rs. 5 Crores. While, Dinesh Karthik was bought by KKR for Rs 7.4 Crores.
