Police continue their alert on cricket betting in the wake of the ongoing Indian Premier League IPL season. Indore Crime branch raided a house and arrested three persons, including the house owner while they were betting for IPL in the Lasudia area late on Tuesday. The prime accused had lost both his legs in a road accident after which he started betting. The accused are being questioned further.

ASP (crime) Guruprasad Parashar said acting on a tip-off, a team of crime branch raided a house in Mahalaxmi Nagar area and caught three persons. They were betting for IPL with the help of mobile phones and laptops. The accused were identified as Anand Indori, a resident of Mahalaxmi Nagar, Prateek Agrawal of Mahalaxmi Nagar and Yogesh Rathore of Burhanpur and present resident of Chitra Nagar area of the city. Prateek told the crime branch officials that he had lost his legs in a road accident a few years ago. After that, he started betting for IPL. He used to get a line of betting from Hyderabad. They were betting for Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Mumbai Indians.

The team has seized Rs 38645, 15 mobile phones, 2 laptops, 2 LED TVs, cheque books, 13 diaries etc from the accused. The accused were booked under the Public Gambling Act.
