MOHALI: Former Australian cricketer Tom Moody praised Mumbai Indians for winning back-to-back successful run chases in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 and said Ishan Kishan regaining his form is encouraging for the five-time winners.

In order to assist Mumbai chase down 215 and defeat Punjab Kings by six wickets, Kishan hammered a fantastic 75 at a strike rate of 182.93 while collaborating with Suryakumar Yadav for a match-winning combination of 116 runs for the third wicket.

"The Mumbai Indians' strength is their excellent batting order. They are demonstrating that they are a courageous running team. Ishan Kishan was the only piece of their batting that was missing, and his return to form has given MI a huge lift, according to a remark from Moody that appeared in Star Sports.

Aside from Kishan, Suryakumar, who entered as an Impact Player for the chase, slammed a whirlwind 66. With his distinctively creative shots, he left no space untouched, hitting eight fours and two sixes for a strike rate of 212.9.

S. Sreesanth, a former Indian bowler, referred to Suryakumar Yadav as a mathematician because of his uncanny knack for spotting holes. "SKY is a mathematician in addition to being a hitter. He carries himself in an outstanding manner. He analyses the area like a mathematician would using a protractor and a compass on paper. "He does those calculations brilliantly in his quick mind, taking full use of the size of the field, the bowler's velocity, etc. He literally understands the fielder's location and the locations of the gaps. He's quite accurate. Even the sky is not the limit for Surya, despite what people may think. Sreesanth continued by saying that Mumbai have resumed their winning ways and that it will be challenging for other teams to halt their winning momentum in the IPL in 2023.
