Kolkata: West Bengal CM and Trinamool Congress (TMC) President Mamata Banerjee is seen getting involved in a new controversy. A video an IPS officer in police uniform touching her feet is going viral on social media. The video shows an IPS officer touching the feet of CM Mamata Banerjee. Mamata Banerjee is also seen feeding the cake to the officer before the officer touching her feet.

The officer, who was wearing a uniform, touched the feet of the Bengal CM, named as Rajiv Mishra, who is posted as IG (Paschimanchal). According to the information received, Mamata Banerjee had gone to Digha area of East Midnapore district last week to attend an administrative meeting.  According to sources, the event was not official, it was a birthday celebration among 4-5 officials. After cutting the cake at the same event, the IPS officer touched Mamata Banerjee's feet.

The WEST Bengal's BJP unit has opened a front against the TMC when the video surfaced. West Bengal BJP in-charge and senior party leader Kailash Vijayvargiya has tweeted his reaction on social media. In his tweet, he wrote, "Uniform Bow in front of Didi." In West Bengal, IG Rajiv Mishra, police in West Zone, touched her feet being in uniform. What kind of system and what kind of democracy is this?"
