Chandigarh: Haryana has got its new Director General of Police (DGP). IPS PK Agarwal will now be the new DGP of Haryana Police. He will replace Manoj Yadav. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) had sent a panel of three names to the Haryana government for the appointment of a new DGP. Seniority was made a criterion while preparing the panel. The panel had names of IPS PK Agarwal, Ramesh Chandra Mishra, and Mohammad Akil.

After which the Manohar Lal Khattar government in Haryana has now appointed PK Agarwal as the new DGP of the state. He will have a tenure of two years.  The Haryana government had sent a panel of names of five IPS officers to the Union People's Service Commission (UPSC). Apart from the above three names, the names of IPS Shatrughankapoor and Deshraj were also included. But UPSC had not included the two in the last three. PK Agarwal has been appointed on the basis of seniority.

Tell me, IPS PK Agarwal is originally from Bihar. He is a 1988 batch IPS officer and was still posted as DG State Vigilance Bureau. He will retire on June 30, 2023. He has been awarded the Police Medal in 2004 and the President's Police Medal in 2015.
