THERAN: Iran has once again denied claims of providing weapons to Russia "to be used in the war in Ukraine", according to a statement by its foreign ministry on Saturday.
In recent weeks, Kyiv and several of its Western allies have accused Moscow of attacking Ukraine with drones made in Iran. The subject is likely to be discussed by EU foreign ministers at a meeting in Luxembourg on Monday.
The Islamic Republic of Iran "emphasizes that the Islamic Republic of Iran has not and will not provide any weapons to be used in war in Ukraine," according to a statement from the foreign ministry.

In a phone conversation with his Portuguese counterpart Joo Gomes Cravinho, the Iranian foreign minister said, "We believe that the weapons of each side of the crisis will prolong the war."
We have not considered going to war and do not think it is the best course of action in Yemen, Afghanistan, Syria or Ukraine.
Iran's official stance of neutrality in relation to the conflict that began nearly eight months ago was reiterated by Amir-Abdullahian in a separate phone call with EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell on Friday.

Regarding the conflict in Ukraine, he said, "We have defense cooperation with Russia, but our policy is not to send weapons to fighters, end the conflict and stop the displacement of people."
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky claimed on Monday that Iranian drones were involved in Russian attacks on energy infrastructure in several Ukrainian cities.
In response to alleged arms shipments to Russia, Kyiv last month decided to significantly curtail its diplomatic ties with Tehran.
Iran claimed the election was "inspired by false information provided by propaganda from foreign media."

The United States banned a company in September after it was accused of aiding in the delivery of Iranian drones to Russia for use in Ukraine.
