In the ongoing Vienna talks to resuscitate the 2015 nuclear deal, Iran's senior nuclear negotiator Ali Bagheri Kani indicated that the issues, or so-called "open parenthesis," are lessening.

Bagheri Kani made the statements while departing the Coburg Hotel in Vienna, where talks on Iran's nuclear programme are still ongoing. The Iranian negotiator also informed reporters that the negotiations are progressing.

Intensive negotiations aimed at restoring the Iranian nuclear accord, also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, have taken place at various levels and in varied formats over the previous two days. Mechanisms for the issuing of guarantees for the full execution of a prospective deal are on the table at the Vienna talks, and the details of such mechanisms are being discussed.

Another important concern is ensuring that sanctions be lifted in a way that allows Iran to benefit from the reduction of sanctions in an effective, realistic, and verifiable manner, according to the report. A checklist of US acts at the Vienna talks is also being drafted, according to Tasnim.

Following the United States' withdrawal from the 2015 nuclear deal with international powers in 2018, the Trump administration imposed sanctions on Iranian leaders, politicians, and companies. Iran and the United States are presently discussing in Vienna in an attempt to save 2015 nuclear deal.
