Baghdad: Iran's powerful Revolutionary Guard on Saturday warned the UAE that the move would prove fatal for the UAE, following the announcement of a historic agreement to initiate diplomatic relations between the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Israel. The UAE has become the first Gulf Arab country to establish diplomatic relations with Israel and only the third Arab country to establish normal relations.

The Iranian Guard has called the agreement a shameful compromise and a damaging step. The United States has also signed the agreement. The Guard warned that the agreement with Israel would serve to bring back American influence in West Asia, and bring a dangerous future for the UAE government.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has also strongly criticized the UAE move. In a television speech on Saturday, he warned that the UAE had made a major mistake by compromising towards normalizing relations with Israel. Let us tell you that US President Donald Trump announced on Thursday that the United Arab Emirates and Israel have agreed to establish full diplomatic relations.
