TEHRAN: The Iranian army has established a missile unit, according to Tasnim news agency, citing a senior commander. Commander Kiomars Heidari stated the missile unit has been established in the army's Ground Force.

According to him, the Ground Force plans to update equipment and introduce new gear fit for rapid reaction operations, as well as develop automated and smart ordnance capable of hitting targets at long ranges with pinpoint accuracy. The Iranian Defense Ministry revealed the latest homegrown military equipment on Sunday, including a range of stationary missiles, smart artillery ammo, and precision strike mortars.

Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) displayed a new ballistic missile named Kheibar Shekan on Wednesday, with a range of 1,450 kilometres and the capacity to move through the missile shield during the landing phase.

Iran's armed forces are showcasing their most recent military developments as the country commemorates the 43rd anniversary of the Islamic Revolution victory in 1979.
