Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has arrived in India. He landed in Hyderabad, Telangana at around 4:30 PM on Thursday.

Hassan Rouhani is on a three-day visit to India for participating in bilateral talks and to strengthen India-Iran relations. Before his departure from Iran’s Tehran, he spoke about India- Iran relations and told they have a history of strong relations in various fields. He is accompanied by a group of officials from Iran. The group has Vice-President for Economic Affairs, Mohammad Nahavandian, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, Oil Minister Bijan Zanganeh among many others.

“Till the recent centuries, the Persian language was spoken by most people in the Indian Subcontinent,” he had said to press while leaving for India. He also informed about a tri-lateral transit agreement signed with India and Afghanistan. This will pave way for a transit route between India and Iran.

On his three day visit, he will visit Delhi for talks with PM Modi and a speech at Observer Research Foundation. He will offer prayers at Mecca Masjid in Hyderabad and also speak there. He may also visit the Golconda Fort and Salar Jung Museum. He will leave for Delhi on February 16.

Hassan Rouhani is visiting India for the second time however first time as the Iranian President.
