Ireland will rely on their seasoned batsmen, including Andy Balbirnie, Paul Stirling, and Harry Tector, to recover from their defeat against India and rejuvenate their T20 World Cup campaign. They face a resilient Canada in a crucial match in New York on June 6.

Ireland suffered an eight-wicket loss to India on June 5, while Canada is eager to rebound after a seven-wicket defeat to co-hosts USA. Ireland, participating in their eighth T20 World Cup, have often struggled to make a mark in the tournament despite their key players' experience in English county cricket. They have reached the 'Super 8' stage only once, in 2009.

Balbirnie and captain Stirling, with more than 250 combined T20I appearances, failed to provide a strong start on a challenging pitch at Nassau Country Stadium. Meanwhile, India's Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant displayed batting excellence, guiding their team to a comprehensive victory.

Harry Tector, a veteran of 77 T20Is, also couldn't contribute significantly as Ireland were bowled out for a total below 100 runs by the disciplined Indian bowlers. Ireland now needs a swift turnaround in their performance.

This will be Ireland's second match at the same venue within two days, and they are keen to implement the lessons learned from their previous match.

On the other hand, World Cup newcomers Canada are looking to recover from a heavy defeat against the USA in a high-scoring Group A encounter in Dallas. Canada, however, can draw confidence from their 2019 T20 World Cup Qualifier match against Ireland, where they inflicted a comprehensive 10-wicket defeat.

In skipper Navneet Dhaliwal, Canada has an experienced top-order batsman who played a crucial role in the 2019 victory. Canada will also be buoyed by their strong performance against the USA, where they posted a formidable 194 runs.

Ireland: Paul Stirling (captain), Mark Adair, Ross Adair, Andy Balbirnie, Curtis Campher, Gareth Delany, George Dockrell, Graham Hume, Josh Little, Barry McCarthy, Neil Rock (wk), Harry Tector, Lorcan Tucker (wk), Ben White, Craig Young.
