Irrfan's latest movie, The Song of Scorpions, will be released in theaters on April 28, a day before the actor's third death anniversary. His son Babil posted the film's poster and trailer. Anup Singh directed the film, which also stars Tillotama Shome and Shashank Arora. Waheeda Rehman, a veteran actress, will appear in a film after a long break.
Sharing the trailer, Babil also wrote, “Bringing alive a heart-wrenching tale of love, obsession and betrayal.” The film is a folktale set in Rajasthan's Thar desert, and it stars Irrfan as a camel salesman who falls in love with Nooran (Golshifteh Farahani), a lady who is the only one who knows the song she uses to heal scorpion bites.
The fascinating teaser depicts Nooran traveling across the desert on foot to sing for scorpion bite victims in order to save their lives. Irrfan falls in love with her, and she returns his sentiments. Unfortunately, before the two could tie the knot, a tragedy strikes her, putting their plans on hold. In the film, Waheeda Rehman plays Nooran's grandmother.
