Karan Johar is the producer and owner of this production house, while the CEO is Apoorva Mehta. On the other hand, Saregama India Limited is headed by the RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group, a prominent name in the film industry.

According to a Business Today report, the deal is still in its early stages, and it is possible that this round of talks may not reach any conclusion. According to sources, there has been no official confirmation on the matter. Recently, Saregama India Limited has bought Pocket Aces Pictures and is now trying to make its mark on films and OTT platforms. This identity may start with Dharma Productions.

Status of Dharma Productions

However, it is also being said that the deal has not yet reached the final stage. Dharma Productions has been in trouble recently due to poor box office performance and rising star fees, so it is now seeking investment from groups and industrialists. Karan Johar has not yet reacted to this business decision.

Dharma Productions Revenue

According to a report that came out a few months ago, Dharma Productions had earned a revenue of Rs 1,044.16 crore in 2022–23 and also earned a profit of Rs 10.69 crore. At the same time, Saregama India has earned a revenue of Rs 790.3 crore and a net profit of Rs 185.1 crore. Dharma Productions releases new films every year and also distributes films in which it is not a co-producer.
