Kolkata: Hindu organisations protested at Rasmani Avenue in Kolkata on Tuesday against the attack on puja mandapas, ISKCON temples and Hindus during Durga Puja in Bangladesh. On Tuesday, activists of other Hindu-backed organisations including the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) such as Vishwa Hindu Parishad, RSS, Hindu Jagran Manch, etc. took out a protest march in Kolkata.
The protesters were demanding punishment for the culprits and shouting slogans against the Bangladeshi government. ISKCON, on the other hand, has announced its demonstration in 150 countries on October 23. Hindu temples were vandalised and statues demolished by Islamic miscreants during Durga puja celebrations in Bangladesh on Thursday. Some Hindus were also killed. The body of the ISKCON devotee was then recovered from the pond on Friday. There is a lot of resentment in the Hindu community of Bengal against this.
On Tuesday, protest marches were taken out from College Square, Tarasundari Park Badabazar and Elgin Road Gurdwara on behalf of the larger Hindu community. The processions gathered at Rani Rasmani Road in Dharmatala. There were protests against the attack on Hindus in Bangladesh. The protesters were shouting slogans of Jai Shri Ram.
