Dreaming of a summer getaway? Now's the time to pack your bags! Several island nations are rolling out the red carpet for Indian travelers by offering visa-free entry. This move aims to boost tourism and ensure hassle-free travel for visitors from select countries, including India.
Sri Lanka and Thailand are among the countries extending warm invitations to Indian tourists. Sri Lanka, our neighboring island nation, has announced an extension of visa-free entry until May 31 for Indians, along with visitors from China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Russia, and Japan. However, travelers from these countries must apply for a visa online through the official website before arrival.
Thailand, famous for its stunning beaches and vibrant culture, has also extended its visa exemption program for Indian tourists. Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin made this decision during a recent cabinet meeting. Indian and Taiwanese tourists can now enjoy visa-free entry until November 11, with a 30-day validity period.
Additionally, Iran has waived visa requirements for Indian passport holders since February 4, allowing entry once every six months for up to 15 days strictly for tourism. Kenya offers visa-free entry for Indians, albeit with the requirement of obtaining electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) beforehand. Malaysia has also relaxed its rules, allowing Indian and Chinese tourists to stay visa-free for up to 30 days, effective from December 1.
However, it's essential to note that these visa-free privileges apply only to air travelers. So, if you're planning your next vacation, consider these island paradises for an unforgettable experience!
