Israel imposes strict Covid-19 lockdown to combat the virus

Corona cases are continuously increasing on Israel. The country, with a population of some nine million people, has reported a total of 471,048 cases and 3,552 deaths In the view of increasing corona case, Israel imposed new corona restrictions on Thursday night. The strict lockdown came into effect at midnight after the parliament, or Knesset approved the measure. 

The strict lockdown will be lifted on Jan. 21, according to a joint statement issued by the prime minister's office and the health ministry. According to the new guideline, schools and most businesses will be closed. Gatherings of more than five people in closed areas will be banned. Flights from Israel will be cancelled except for people who purchased flight tickets before the new restrictions have taken effect. Israel has entered its third nationwide lockdown on December 27, 2020.

Talking about the global corona cases, According to the Johns Hopkins University, The overall number of global coronavirus cases has topped 86 million, while the deaths have surged to more than 1.86 million. The current global caseload and death toll stood at 86,379,672 and 1,867,585, respectively.
