The Gaza Strip, embroiled in Israel's ongoing conflict, is now described as a 'death zone' by the WHO chief, as the health and humanitarian crisis worsens, terming the situation 'inhumane'.

Amidst Israeli strikes, mourners receive the bodies of victims, highlighting the grim toll of the conflict.

The Palestine Red Crescent Society issues a stark warning about the dire conditions at al-Amal Hospital in Khan Younis, marking the 30th day of Israeli siege.

Iraq's representative at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) calls for accountability, labeling Israel's actions as 'war crimes'. Al-Barrak emphasizes the need for the ICJ to protect Palestinian lives and ensure their rights are upheld.

Al-Barrak urges the ICJ to heed previous rulings against Israel, invoking the court's role in ending atrocities and preventing further harm to Palestinians.

In response to a shooting incident in Maale Adumim, Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich demands expansion of illegal settlements in the West Bank, a move condemned by most states and international bodies as a violation of international law.

The demand for settlement expansion comes despite repeated UN resolutions affirming the illegality of Israeli settlements in Palestinian territories and their hindrance to a peaceful resolution.

UN human rights experts have urged Israel to promptly enact an immediate ceasefire and concrete humanitarian actions, with a specific emphasis on addressing the needs of Palestinian women and girls. Referring to the International Court of Justice's ruling on January 26, the experts highlighted urgent concerns such as disrupted education, housing destruction, limited healthcare access, and increased risks faced by women and girls in Gaza and the West Bank, including gender-based violence.

Demanding an end to Israeli forces' attacks on hospitals due to increasingly restricted access to medical care, the experts stressed the necessity for gender-sensitive measures to meet the urgent requirements of vulnerable individuals. They called for the establishment of a field hospital, facilitation of aid distribution, prioritization of menstrual hygiene products, construction of additional shelters and schools, and provision of safe spaces for survivors of gender-based violence.

The experts emphasized that implementing these measures would represent a long-overdue demonstration of Israel's commitment to civilian protection and respect for human rights. Appointed by the UN Human Rights Council to monitor critical human rights issues, the experts operate independently of the UN and any government, serving in their individual capacities without compensation for their work.
